Marry me. Sorry, I apologize. Anyway, I do believe and understand one form of generational history, though I don't know if it counts as you've dictated it. That being that most issues in the world are the cause of the current generation, and are unlikely to be course corrected or "fixed" per se within it. This is due to in part the bulk of people being stuck in their ways for lack of a more nuanced shortform of what I mean. In part it's due to those holding power having established it and being the only ones for the majority part that understand how to both get and keep it. Even if that means denying that from others. It doesn't start at birth so much as within the generations education. Their peer grouping likely mattering the most, though this also entails the schooling and other resources they've learned from; Correct, fruitful, useful or otherwise lessons or not. That said, the US is a debt economy overrun by administrative or what I'd call the Administrative Generation. It's evidenced in our schools, our work and our government. Which I bring this up because this also applies to the majority of states, and even to many, if not most, of the counties. That is, a problematic thing to explain as it's entirely dependent upon the scope or lens from which one looks. Granted, this is fast thoughts and a long-winded way of saying that the ownership and managers have to leave before a real change can happen. From a global perspective, I can only say our leaderships are very old. Very, very old. Would leave it to someone else to decide if that's a concern or not.

History never repeats. Period. The individual human brain and its biases see patterns, the brain is good at this. Yet even this is only abstraction. Human endeavour over time (history) doesn't do this; due to the vast number of factors involved ; at any one time point, many factors are interacting, from individual forces, group forces, technology, communication, social conventions, economic inputs [the list of factors goes on] all interacting in particular ways given the time point unique complexity emerges. Its and abstraction again to deduce historical trends. These trends are also constrained by their own context - which is the set of satisfied conditions in which the abstraction (i.e. the trend) is therefore usable and useful. Furthermore the "time" an empires exists does not necessarily equal a great empire. Ultimately prosperity and net wealth, technology, and unique cultural achievements are all sound measures of success (among others). Comparing empires from different time periods is fraught with difficulty. So many of the metrics useful for comparison are not one to one. So again abstraction is required to equate the two. This abstraction places a meaningful and non trivial obfuscation of many factors (a measurement error) which becomes a compounding problem the more factors you need to abstract for. furthermore extrapolating a historical trend in this off-hand way has the utility of wining MAYBE a one fallacious argument against an unaware opponent AT BEST. it would represent a fairly useless "tool" in any other context. Its impossible to truly know/predict the life circumstances of your grandchild (if we could do so we would all win money by predicting more important things). Its even more difficult to predict the behaviors of large groups of people. Who actually, definitively, predicted the iPhone? I'll tell you who; no one. This reality like Black Swan events and other emergent factors cant be accounted for. So history and trend prediction is a very week tool which weakens the further you go into the future-time-cone. Don't be fooled by people who are trying to sound "wise" by claiming their word- salad is "sage". Give them a jaundice eye and ask for factual proof.

So history tells us Empires pass but that's not history because reasons, and Empires persist forever except they don't and if you don't believe that you don't know history or something. The "men" theory is an attempt to explain the reasons for this cycle, with our best documented example being Rome which on the surface appears to follow this trend, social and political changes ended Rome not magic. When you have no where else to go all that's left is internal conflict with the attendant laws that start privileging one group over another to solve imaginary grievances.

disagree with you on this one. I only think the woman was too quick to harp on the guy, but it's completely understandable that a lesbian bar would only want lesbians there. LGBT communities mistake is that it keeps shouting "acceptance for everyone/everything" when it's an inherently exclusive community. The fact that "ally" has been a label for ages too just exacerbates the issue.

OK. There were so many things wrong about that Tik-Tok video. The Trojans did not have an empire. We still aren't sure who they were. The Greeks did not have an empire, at least not until about 450 CE, when the Eastern Roman Empire based in Constantinople arose with the loss of the Western half of the Empire. But the Roman Empire, if you consider Augustus created the Roman Empire as a military dictatorship started in 30 BCE and continued through the Romanoi of the Eastern Roman empire until 1476 CE (IIRC). That's 1500 years. If you only consider the Roman Empire before the collapse of Rome, that's still close to 500 years. Or you go to the point when the Romans occupied lands beyond the Italian peninsula, which would take it back another 200 years. There were Egyptian dynasties that lasted past 200 years as well as Chinese dynasties. The British Empire started in 1607 or so and ended between 1947 and 1965. And the US is not an empire.
